EU regulations have extended tachograph obligations to cross-border light commercial vehicles over 2.5 tonnes, requiring intelligent devices, periodic data downloads and 12-month archiving; fleet operators have been advised to equip vehicles and adopt automated remote-download solutions.

CO2 classification changes affecting heavy vehicle tolls
Operators have been required to register CO2 classes and update OBU weight data since Germany has adopted F1 weights on 1 December 2023; tolls have applied from 1 January 2024 in Austria and from 1 July 2024 in Germany.
